Social enterprise HERi Madagascar establishes solar-powered kiosks that provide electrical products and services to rural, off-grid communities. HERi is seeking to recruit a Project Manager.

Mission :
The EU Project Manager leads the Malagasy part of an international project that is co-funded by two social investors and the European Union. The project is implemented by three local companies in Kenya, Ethiopia and Madagascar.

The Project Manager reports to HERi Madagascar’s General Manager to the international coordinator of the EU project :

Main tasks :

Project implementation and follow-up :

Plan, coordinate and supervise the implementation of the activities
Ensure up-dating and implementation of the Project’s Action Plan
Develop intervention principles in compliance with the project’s quality standards
Monitor the progress towards the project indicators
Periodic reporting on project achievements
Effective and efficient implementation of administrative and financial procedures of the Project and ensure that invoices and other supporting documents are in compliance with the EU requirements
Develop and deploy working tools for good project management
Ensure the proper conduct of the procurement process
Elaborate consolidated technical and financial reports

Project Development :

Ensure post-project financial sustainability of activities
Develop a positive working environment within the project and a climate of trust between the project and the other stakeholders
Identify areas of collaboration and propose partnerships to other potential partners
Build strong relations with the European Union

Requirements :

Master degree in Management, Social Sciences, Engineering or equivalent
Perfectly fluent in French (written and spoken), fluent in English, knowledge of Malagasy is an asset.
At least five years of experience in project cycle management or equivalent
Setting up project systems and reporting
Experience in partnerships with stakeholders and local/regional authorities
Experience in working with Base of the Pyramid (BoP) customers
Work experience in Africa, preferably in Madagascar
Administrative and financial management experience in a major development project, preferably a EU funded project
Leadership skills and outstanding interpersonal communication skills
Experience in managing multidisciplinary and cross-cultural teams
Highly motivated and able to work under pressure
Ability to set deadlines and communicate them clearly
Experience in the private sector mandatory, experience in renewable energies is an asset

Conditions :

1 year contract (renewable), Position based in Province (Fianarantsoa or Manakara)
