37 ans de carrière et des récompenses à travers le monde, le groupe Ziskakan vous donne rendez vous à Montréal les 17, 18 et 20 novembre 2016 pour un goût de musique réunionnaise.
Dix-huit morceaux. De « Bato Fou » à « Saarang » en passant par « Nasyon » ou « Kala ». De ceux qui font l’effet d’une madeleine de Proust. En 35 ans de carrière, Ziskakan en a imprimé des émotions dans les cœurs réunionnais. Le groupe mythique, militant de la première heure pour la reconnaissance du maloya et de la culture créole, semble livrer avec Rico son essence. Comme si les années de scènes aux quatre coins du globe, les collaborations riches d’échanges et d’expérimentation, avaient servi d’alambic pour extraire l’essentiel : la poésie créole.
Portés par la voix lourde d’émotion de Gilbert Pounia, charismatique leader du groupe, ses textes et ceux d’ Axel Gauvin, Bernard Payet, Carpanin Marimoutou, sa fille Maya Kamaty, Serge Ulentin, Dev Virahswamy, Sergio Grondin, Michel Ducasse et Gillette Staudasher-Valliamé semblent faire sens à nouveau.
Enregistré lors de la tournée anniversaire du groupe à la Réunion, ce double-album live flirte avec l’acoustique en petite formation, comme pour donner encore plus de poids aux mots et aux mélodies qui épousent leur rythme.

In 35 years of career, Ziskakan have printed so many feelings in Reunion people’s hearts. The mythical band – one of the first militants for the recognition of maloya and of creole culture – seems to deliver its essence with the song "Rico". As if the years spent on stage all around the world, the collaborations filled with exchanges and experimentations have served as a still to extract the most essential thing : the creole poetry.
Carried by the charismatic leader of the band, Gilbert Pounia and his voice full of strong emotions, the lyrics of his songs and those written by Axel Gauvin, Bernard Payet, Carpanin Marimoutou, his daughter Maya Kamaty, Serge Ulentin, Dev Virahswamy, Sergio Grondin, Michel Ducasse and Gillette Staudasher-Valliamé seem to make sense again.
Recorded during the anniversary tour of the band in Reunion Island, this double live album flirts with a simple acoustic outfit as if to give even more weight to the words and to the tunes which adopt the rhythm.
